Star Merchant has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Supervisor to be based in Umhlanga, Durban. The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the leading and management of a team, by providing general operational and technical assistance to the Operations Manager and Regional teams. Ensure achievement of company’s strategic objectives, goal plans and targets. Comply with all policies and procedures and strict adherence to internal controls. Focus on general customers. Ensure daily, weekly and monthly reporting is done accurately and timeously and contains appropriate content to enable effective decision making.

Managing a team
Reviewing approval requests before submitting to Senior management for final approval in line with the Operational Approval System.
Monitoring day to day workflow of all departments within the procurement process.
Delegating and allocation of tasks to Team Members.
Responsible for implementation of all new policies and procedures together with the Operations Manager.
Provide assistance to the Operations Manager for all administrative functions.
Form part of the training and development committee for the formal and informal training programs.
Intermediary link with developers and IT infrastructure team relating to system development and integration.
Build strong working relationships with Internal and External customers and provide assistance when requested.
Dealing with all types of escalated Customer Service issues from internal and external customers and provide timeous feedback to Management.
Provide continuous feedback to the Commercial Manager in the absence of the Operations Manager.
Execute on any adhoc requests from Management.
Must be able to travel between provinces on request.
Available on weekends and after hours as and when required.
Required to present yourself in a fair and professional manner at all times.
In decision making, required to always put the business needs first. Decisions are to be made in a reasonable manner.
Performance must be tracked by yourself and the onus is placed on you to set-up performance review meetings with the Operations Manager.

Ensure the above (final version) and other documents are chronologically saved/backed up.
