Cosmic Clean Energy is an emerging Independent Solar Power Producer (IPP) focusing on growth and scalable markets like South Africa and having presence in Canada, South Africa and Zambia. The organization relies on its track record, team’s successful past experience and its international partnership to penetrate markets by bringing competitive solar solutions for private companies.
We are expecting major growth for ourselves in South Africa market with the current potential projects pipeline of >20MW and are moving ahead to expand our team locally. As a Business Development Manager, you will be willing to flip, turn, spin, and even go through wormholes to manage BD activities and close deals. We don’t give up and we don’t set boundaries for you, this is your starship and we’ll let you navigate.
This position focusses on roof-top to ground mount solar project development and pro-active engagement with mid-level and senior executives in the Commercial & Industrial space. The goal is to promote and expand the company’s business portfolio that will generate revenues and lead to sustainable growth.
You will have the opportunity to:
Identify solar projects prospects for target customers, develop new sales channel, explore market demand and develop pipeline of projects
Build, manage, and strengthen relationship with key decision makers in target companies
Carry out commercial and contractual negotiations and be fully responsible for closing deals while working closely with cross-functional teams internally
Attend site surveys to examine solar photovoltaic project feasibility and provide relevant information to finance and engineering team
Prepare progress reports which give the management a solid and focused overview as needed
Lead development efforts for greenfield ground mount solar PV projects, identify co-development and project acquisitions opportunities within targeted markets/sectors
Evaluate market drivers including new technologies, financial incentives, government/regulatory issues and business structures to continually grow our portfolio and maintain a competitive position in the industry
Set clear, actionable short-term/ long-term goals to maximize performance
Always represent us with integrity and professionalism in all written and oral communications
The location is flexible- Gauteng/ KZN/ Western Cape
You are a solution driven person who is self-motivated and ambitious to grow your career exponentially.
Minimum 4-5 years of experience in Renewable Energy (preferably in Solar) Business Development.
Minimum Graduation/PG Diploma. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Business management is preferred
Proven ability to achieve business targets
Excellent English written and oral communication skills, including facilitation of group presentations
Knowledge of a local language is preferred, not required
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and other Microsoft Office products
