Senior manager position as the Head of the Warehouse and Logistics departments. This role is very accountable for the overall success of the department with an individual who is capable of creating efficiency by implementing systems and structures that will achieve the overall KPI’s within the department.
Warehouse operates 24/7 so work will shift work
Supervision: Monitor and manage all staff in warehouse, despatch, logistics and receiving departments – daily shifts, monitoring for HR standards and contract fulfilment or necessary disciplinary action.
Oversee daily functions to ensure planning and relevant department KPI activities are completed.
Manage stock cycle counts, monthly counts and the resulting stock variances across all warehouses and regions and liaise with Branch managers on control implementation
Monitoring and controlling, managing and maintaining stock controls, variances, valuation, slow moving stock and material consumption reports to a specific measurable as set out with Operations Manager.
Implementing, Reporting and monitoring of the Bills of Materials and associated processes
Overall purchases and cost controls in all departments and warehouses.
Monitoring, controlling and optimising, raw materials, packaging and other related materials.
Maintain an efficient, neat warehouse in line with ISO and Quality protocols.
Train and developing necessary staff.
Keep a cost lean department with effective management review of suppliers and internal costs.
Planning the First-in-First-out (FIFO) delivery and despatch off goods and monitoring stock levels and just in time deliveries (JIT)
Planning work rotation of warehouse and logistics staff
Organising and recruiting and training staff
Achieve all targets set out in KPI’s to ensure that the departments are running safely and efficiently at all times.
Ensure that all deliveries are signed for, all daily orders are despatched accurately and corresponding paperwork is tied up and filed appropriately.
Ensure that all equipment and vehicles (trucks, forklifts) associated with the warehousing and logistic function are kept in good working condition and maintained accordingly.
To reduce warehouse and logistics costs where possible while maintaining a high level of customer service.
To create the KPI’s along with being the main point of contact for the rest of the company on all warehousing and logistic related matters.
Able to manage department where extended hours or weekend and or evening call outs may be required Available after hours to deal with matters related to the department.
Qualifications: Matric with a Bachelor’s Degree in Warehouse and Logistics Management
Experience: Minimum 3-years post qualification with experience in Plastics Manufacturing a bonus
