SPATIAL PLANNING AND ENVIRONMENT • ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
COORDINATOR: SMART DRIVER PROGRAMME
BASIC SALARY: R461 499 PER ANNUM • REF NO: SPE 47/20
A three-year diploma or Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate natural/social science field
A postgraduate diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and/or certificate in M&E
A project management qualification
A Trainer and/or a Train the Trainer qualification
A Code AB and/or EC driver’s licence
A Smart Driver Training Competency certificate
Knowledge of Road Traffic Act and SANS, ARTO, City fleet policy, City’s education, training and development framework, NEMA and other related legislation
Computer proficiency especially in Excel in order to compile specific databases, reports, PowerPoint presentations, training materials, etc.
Up to five (5) years’ experience in project and programme management, monitoring and evaluation of programmes and the use of M&E tools and working with Excel, training and facilitation of driver theory and environmental related training and training materials development.
Key performance areas:
Liaising with all City line departments with fleets, fleet vehicles and drivers
Liaising with MyCiti and dial-a-ride bus drivers via the transport directorate and respective vehicle operating companies
Managing and facilitating the implementation of the managing risk in transport operations with senior management and supervisors
Managing and facilitating the smart driver programme, including the implementation of training programmes, and ensuring that all training materials are up to date
Managing the monitoring and evaluation of the programme using all tools available for this purpose
Reporting on the financial, safety and environmental benefits of the programme
Writing reports to provide updates, accurate and verifiable saving results and give feedback, to relevant parties
Coordinate a departmental fleet risk control service, in order for fleet drivers and vehicles to be operated significantly more efficiently and cost-effectively
Establishing strategic partnerships, coordinating and facilitating meetings/workshops with City line departments and external stakeholders/role-players
Representing the City on relevant forums, working groups and steering committees including giving presentations and delivering professional papers.
