We are looking for a Data Architect / Systems Developer in the Hatfield area with 7 years' programming experience to develop database solutions to ensure the company's information is stored effectively and securely.
Duties & Responsibilities
To build, optimize and maintain conceptual and logical database models. For this role, the systems developer should know how to analyse systems requirements and implement migration methods for existing data. Hands-on experience with SQL and Oracle is required. Ideally you should be familiar with predictive analysis and data visualization techniques using relevant tools like Tableau, D3.js and R.
Developing database solutions to store and retrieve data to and from different technologies / platforms
Installing and configuring information systems to ensure functionality
Analysing structural requirements for the new software and applications
Migrating data from legacy systems to new solutions
Designing conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts
Improving system performance by conducting testes, troubleshooting and integrating new elements
Optimising new and current dataset systems
Defining security and backup procedures identifying future needs and requirements
Providing information systems operational support
Desired Experience & Qualification
BSc in Computer Sciences / Informatics or related degree
7+ years’ experience in programming and systems design
Proficient in programming languages like JAVA, PHP, C++, C#, etc.
Experience in My SQL and Oracle
Systems design and modelling experience
Proven work track record in a similar role
In-depth understanding of database structure principles
Experience in gathering and analysing system requirements
Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques
Proficient in MS. Excel and Access
Familiarity with data visualisation tools like Power BI, Tableau, Qlikview or Looker
Experience with agile software development methodologies
Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
Package & Remuneration
R640 000 - R780 000 per annum
