  • Providing leadership in research, training and service in health systems and public health, including contributing to health leadership and

            management programme coordination and teaching;

  • Initiating and supervising research in health systems and public health, including health leadership and management;
  • Sustaining and growing postgraduate training in the relevant fields;
  • Increasing the quality and output of research in the relevant field;
  • Advising and contributing to related teaching in undergraduate curricula for health sciences students;
  • Organising CPD activities and seminars in relevant topics;
  • Securing funding to support relevant research, training and service;
  • Engaging with provincial, national and international stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements


Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Health Systems, Health Management or Public Health with relevant experience;
  • Expertise and experience in postgraduate teaching in the relevant fields;
  • Evidence of research experience, including a good publication record in peer-reviewed journals, securing research grants and academic collaboration;
  • Evidence of experience in mentorship and postgraduate supervision (Master’s level);
  • Project management skills, communication as well as networking skills.



  • A relevant health sciences qualification;
  • PhD in Public Health, Health Management or relevant related area, or proof of near completion of PhD;
  • Experience in engaging with high-level stakeholders in government;
  • Collaboration with leading national and international health systems and relevant research organisations;
  • Publications in high impact journals;
  • An interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving.
