 Key Responsibilities:



  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Directors

  • Be involved in the financial management of clients

  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients

  • Develop project strategies to solve complex technical challenges for our clients

  • Manage beginning to end process for expats

  • Checking of assessments

  • Monitor the costs on the team's client jobs

  • On completion of each job, prepare costs analysis and bills

  • Manage a portfolio of clients and staff in order to meet client, SARS and any other deadlines

  • Arranging compromise offers/debt write-offs/special applications with SARS

  • Assist with technical objections/appeals

  • Review of objection and appeal letters

  • Technical explanations to Tax, Audit and Accounting staff on Tax matters (Volume extensive)

  • Technical research

  • Inbound and outbound expatriates Consulting

  • Write own articles for review by director and review employees tax, inbound and outbound expatriates related articles written by junior staff

  • Drive the implementation of the digitalization project in the tax department

  • Keeping up-to-date with legislative changes

  • Draft comments on proposed legislation changes

  • Organisation of budget and tax updates functions

  • Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team

  • Shape and deliver projects to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and our own quality criteria

  • Train, coach, and supervise team members

  • Continue to develop internal relationships and developing company brand



Qualification and Experience


BCom degree (CA(SA)/Masters in tax preferable)


7 years post qualification tax experience

  • Ability to ensure effective processes and procedures to plan work, manage debtors and budgets, allocate resources and manage work in progress

  • Ability to motivate employees by providing sound guidance, innovative direction and facilitating team participation in order to reach organisational goals.

  • Managing large multi-level teams with respect to setting goals and priorities and achieving results.

  • Ability to align performance to the strategic objectives of the Division to ensure long term organisational and individual success. Ability to demonstrate a broad-based view of issues and their wider implications.
