An exciting opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified and experienced Payroll Manager in Durban.  The ideal candidate must have experience with Expat payrolls as well as Payroll Accounting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maximising the effectiveness and efficiency of payroll processing, including the streamlining of processes                                                                                                             

  • Regularly monitor and assess/audit integrity of payroll systems/ rules/calculations and application of legislation                                                                                                 

  • Leading and managing the payroll team                                                                                                

  • Implementing and managing the Company's short-term incentive schemes for the Group

  • Developing and reviewing Remuneration and Employee Benefits Policies and Procedures

  • Participating in all relevant salary surveys on behalf of the organisation                                                  

  • Providing guidance and support to the group on all remuneration and benefits related matters  

  • Serving on the Board of Trustees or as Principle Officer of the Company's retirement funds or industry funds                                                                                                        

  • Management of retirement funds and insured benefits, medical aid scheme strategy and policy and general remuneration practices                                                                                                

  • Development, implementation and maintenance of remuneration and benefits systems                

Minimum Requirements

  • B.Comm Degree with Human Resources Management and Accounting                                                   

  • 10 years relevant experience of which at least 5 must be in a managerial role                                      

  • Experience in payroll calculation and processing                                                                               

  • Solid financial acumen and knowledge of Accounting software                                                                  

  •  Extensive knowledge of Sage VIP Payroll, ESS and Accounting software is essential                           

  • Candidates Must have extensive knowledge in expat payrolls, tax implications, legal compliance, liaisons with SARS, tax returns and submissions.  Must understand the tax implications of expats on payrolls                               

  • In- depth working knowledge of relevant tax legislation including Income Tax Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act,
