Vacancy Details


Main Purpose: To ensure good availability and reliability of all overhead cranes and lifting equipment.


Key Performance Areas:


  • Service, maintain and test overhead cranes, lifting equipment and portable electrical tools and declare it safe for plant maintenance use.

  • Service, maintain and test pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.

  • Overhaul and test 3 phase motors up to 400kw.

  • Conduct statutory load tests on overhead cranes and lifting equipment.

  • Ensure good housekeeping at all times.

  • Any other job related duties as required from time to time.


Required Skills

  • electrical and mechanical : 3 to 4 years

Candidate Requirements




  • Team player.

  • Self-motivated.

  • Positive attitude.

  • Able to work under pressure and without supervision.

  • Willing to do standby.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Punctual.

  • Ability to work at heights and confined spaces.

  • Safety conscious.


    Preferred Requirements:


  • Grade 12/N3.

  • Qualified Artisan (Millwright).

  • Registered with the South African Electrical Council for Lifting, Machinery and Inspection qualification.

  • 3 Years’ electrical and mechanical experience in a workshop environment.

  • Overhead cranes and lifting equipment experience.

  • Knowledge of the legal requirements of lifting machinery.

  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.

  • Artisan profile to match the requirements.

  • Computer literate (MS Office).

  • Valid Drivers’ License.

  • Own transport.
