My client, in the manufacturing industry, requires a Qualified Millwright with work experience in a FMCG environment.  Working experience on Krones and Siemens machines - needed!

Purpose of the job:

To lead preventative management initiatives, ensuring machine uptime and quality metrics are met; diagnosing root cause of failures and closing the maintenance cycle by implementing or updating preventative maintenance strategy. To maintain a highly automated plant at set efficiency targets, delivering the required products, at the stipulated quality standards at the right time. To conduct preventative and reactive maintenance in the plant as required.

  • Machine availability (Machine Efficiency)
  • Preventative maintenance schedule adherence
  • Root cause analysis and maintenance cycle improvements
  • Coaching operational staff to ensure autonomous maintenance carried out correctly
  • Housekeeping and Health, Safety, Quality, Hygiene
  • Autonomous Maintenance Measurement

  • mechanical engineer : 4 to 5 years
  • electrical engineer : 4 to 5 years
  • hydraulics : 5 to 6 years
  • pneumatics : 5 to 6 years
  • blow moulding : 4 to 5 years
  • millwrights : 5 to 6 years

Candidate Requirements

Education, experience and competencies required:

  • Qualified Artisan (Electrical and Mechanical) plus minimum N4 qualification - Recognised Trade Test
  • Matric (Maths and Science)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in FMCG environment
  • Must be in possession of a Code 08 (B) driver’s licence
  • Competence on PLCs (S7)
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, speed drives, fillers and labellers
  • Fully competent in both electrical and mechanical
  • Self-motivated, hard worker
  • Good Communication skill
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in FMCG environment
  • PET Plant maintenance experience (good understanding of preforms, blow moulding, electronic fillers, high speed wrap around labels, packer and palletisers)
  • Equipment knowledge on PET injectors, and Krones packaging equipment advantageous
  • Process knowledge in syrup make-up and service equipment advantageous.
