The Senior Data Scientist position falls within the Analytics Unit in the Right to Care (RTC) Strategic Information Department. The Analytics unit is a small team that has recently been formed at RTC and is expected to increase in size. The Analytics department works with RTC’s programs by conducting data analysis to provide solutions that will improve program performance. The analysis conducted is ad-hoc analysis for immediate organisational needs, and longer-term projects that are translated into actionable insights. Where possible, the Analytics unit publishes scientific papers and presents its work at conferences. The candidate would be required to collaborate with RTCs partner in research and cost evaluation. The Analytics unit also works closely with a partner that helps the organisation with data engineering activities, descriptive analysis and high frequency reporting as required. The candidate would need to leverage off this partnership to strengthen the overall data system within RTC. The candidate will also be responsible for evaluating current programs’ interventions to determine their effectiveness and cost efficiency. The Senior Data Scientist will occasionally work closely with the internal Business Development unit by providing in analysis to assist in grant writing. The analysis will often require research and the summarising of data into an easy to understand format. The end goal of this position is to use data analytics to improve patient outcomes across the countries that RTC operates in.
