Regal has a vacancy for an experienced Risk & Safety Officer.





  • Daily control of the security officers on the premises.
  • Monitor and manage the guarding and response companies personal and performance.
  • Logging, follow up and investigate all short or over deliveries to branches and customers.
  • Monitor and manage property and premises access and egress control. 
  • Management and extraction of CCTV footage used in all investigations and audits.
  • Vehicle tracking system management, data integrity and exception reporting.
  • Managing all premises alarm activations, response and reporting.
  • Monitor premises opening and closing alarm status.
  • Monthly systems testing; alarm, alarm panics, electric fence, and fire.
  • Ensuring all maintenance is performed on all existing systems for optimum performance.
  • Conducting all breathalyzer tests for head office and branches where required.
  • Reporting all cases of apparent or proven theft to applicable management.
  • Reporting of all theft cases to the police for case numbers and following through on all investigation processes until finality.
  • Ensuring all third-party contactors are logged, access monitored, escorted and exit processed upon leaving the premises.  



  • Ensure all guarding and armed response is carried out as per agreed service level agreement.
  • Daily control of the security officers on the premises.
  • Ensure the security guards equipment is present and functional at all times.
  • Ensure all communication channels are correct in case of emergencies.
  • Ensure all relevant electronic security equipment is tested regularly.
  • Monitor the performance of the guarding and response personnel and companies.
  • Corresponding with the third-party security guarding and response companies.
  • Managing all security complaints, input and suggestions.
  • Formulating, documenting and presenting all standard operating procedures.



  • Perform necessary stock and document checks and audits at head office and trading branches.
  • Document and report any and all findings directly to the Financial Director.
  • Conduct all checks and audits of stock, documentation and personnel to be actioned under the auspices processes of the Financial Director only.  
  • All audits remain strictly confidential and all completed audit and investigation files and documentation must be handed over, in full, to the Financial Director.



  • Compiling a risk audit process and profile for head office and branches.
  • Completing the risk audit per branch and for head office.
  • Checking all head office and branch electric fence, access, intrusion and CCTV systems for functionality and effectiveness.
  • Reporting all findings to the relevant directors.



  • Health and Safety Officer training and operation.
  • First aider training.
  • Basic PPE equipment and signage allocation and management.
  • Fire equipment checks and reporting.



  • Ensure all security systems are functional at all times and report any issues immediately to facilities management and technical management.
  • Ensure all premises maintenance issues observed are reported for corrective action.
  • Ensure all premises are correct in accordance with the Health and Safety Act.
  • Ensure all access control systems are functioning as required.



  • Vehicle checks for safety and general roadworthiness.
  • Departure and arrival security checks for goods dispatched and returned.
  • Vehicle route risk checks and change control.
  • Oversee the vehicle tracking system.
  • Vehicle tracking system checks and exception reporting.
  • Vehicle tracking and pursuit. 
  • Comparison of expected vehicle routing to the vehicle tracking system routes.
  • Conducting spot vehicle stock checks against relevant documentation.
  • Conducting spot checks of branch delivered goods upon receipting.

Candidate Requirements

  • At least 5 - 8 years in the same or a similar role
  • Ex-police or Ex-military experience advantageous
  • Must have valid Healthy & Safety certification
  • Must be an active Health & Safety officer
  • Relevant certificates or qualifications
  • Must have own vehicle and valid drivers license
  • Computer literate
