Food Production and packaging company seeks a Cost Accountant to manage the factory performance, KPI's and reconcile manufacturing gross profit margin, Calculate factory yield and implemente financial controls, Controlled stock items and reconciled accounts, costed products and controlled assets, Facilitated internal and external audits.
Minimum, four years’ experience in a similar financial position, Computer Skills (SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), B Com Accounting / CIMA or related degree. A vacancy exists within the Groceries Division which will be responsible for all Regional Masterdata (creation, maintenance of materials, plants, storage locations) as well as costing requests and procedures connected with 3 operating units including the preparation of management information, cost control and cost analysis programmes.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
monitoring and review of conversion costs i.e. compilation of accruals and provision of risk stock; the completion of plant manufacturing scorecard; Assist with forecasting on conversion costs & COGS; Assist with consumption reports and support plant with continuous improvement initiatives; the maintenance of Information records, Assist with COGS Annual budgeting.
The successful candidate will have proficient communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with strong analytical skills and proven experience in the Foods Manufacturing environment.
A high degree of business partnering will be required which will inform continuous improvement projects and reducing costs of non-conformance. They will provide onsite support in respect of CSA's (user support, compliance, resolving audit findings from CSA audits/ Deloitte findings).
This role will report to a Financial Manager and be based in Paarl, Western Cape. As the role requires business travel, the successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and their own reliable transport.
