Sales Manager
Port Elizabeth

My client in the automotive manufacturing industry is seeking a Sales Manager to join their team

Duties Include:

  • Develop and execute short-and long-term business plans and strategies designed to assure the growth of revenue, profit and cash flow for the company
  • Meet or exceed all customer and corporate financial, quality and schedule commitments.
  • Define and execute Sales & Product Strategy for South Africa
  • In depth market understanding through business intelligence leveraging regional sales
  • Identify market trends & opportunities, consolidating inputs from the globally business development team
  • On-going management of existing portfolio of current and new products to meet customer needs, ensuring maximum return on investment
  • Drive Top line Revenue Growth
  • Build and achieve future year budget plans
  • Secure and increase market segment growth and share with new and existing customers in the region
  • Regional revenue / growth / profitability accountability
  • Defend existing business
  • Primary responsibility and strategic relationship of local customers
  • Lead and motivate a high-performing sales organization.
  • Provide leadership on major issues facing the organization, working collectively with support managers, and understanding all aspects of the business.
  • Lead local BBBEE strategy
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the structure of the organization to meet the goals of the company.
  • Drive product line growth-volume, share, and new customers.
  • Direct regional customer account and relationship management including development of senior management relations with key customers.
  • Negotiate with customers on pricing and other important matters (quality, delivery, etc)
  • Work with global customer sales lead to ensure local customer strategies and pricing are consistent with global customer requirements
  • Represent voice-of-the-customer within company.
  • Responsible for South Africa customer metrics for represented products (quality, warranty, etc)

Candidate Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree is a minimum requirement. An MBA, or other advanced degree highly desirable.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in automotive sales
  • Strong business acumen, with firm grasp of financial measurements
  • Strong understanding of complicated technical products and market knowledge
  • Previous success in problem solving including ability to identify and resolve issues
  • Knowledge of functional areas such as manufacturing, finance and marketing
  • Professional communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to work in global business environments with regular interaction with the company's corporate and global functions
