Thuthukani Housing Finance is a non-bank credit provider with a national footprint. They currently have a vacancies for Area Sales Managers in Mpumalanga and in KZN to take responsibility for business development and key account management with the building material suppliers in the region to increase/develop the incremental home loan division.

Please note that extensive traveling on a daily basis is required for this position

Purpose of the role

  • Develop sales and marketing strategies to drive sales growth in the assigned area which is aligned with the growth strategy of the organization. 
  • Develop and manage an efficient distribution network to improve sales performances through the building retail merchants in the assigned area. 
  • Developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships with the various retail merchants across the region to ensure sales and revenue targets objectives are met. 

Key Responsibilities and duties 

  • Manage the sales team within the respective merchants for sales growth and revenue enhancement. 
  • Provide sufficient support and training to the respective sales teams within the merchants. 
  • Conduct market research to understand competitors and market trends and ensure this information are shared across the organization to ensure efficient response to changing trend new entrants to the marketplace. 
  • Effective planning and execution to ensure optimum results are achieved in terms of sales and development of merchants and new growth opportunities within the assigned area. 
  • Conduct sales forecast per merchant to ensure overall regional targets are achieved. 
  • Provide innovative ideas and suggestions to improve market presence and increase market share. 
  • Identify Risk Areas within the merchants and ensure this is escalated to management. 
  • Apply remedial actions when merchants starting to show a decline in sales. 
  • Maintain relationship with existing customers for repeat business. 
  • Sales pipeline management and monitoring. 
  • Build sales culture and sale centric atmosphere among the team members. Motivate and support sales teams to achieve set targets. 
  • Arrange Field Marketing and Promotional Days in conjunction with retail merchants. 
  • Ability to manage the brand and ensure the organizational brand is promoted and protected at all times and aligned with the broader organizational brand identity. 
  • Develop creative promotional strategies to attract more customers and promote the brand of the organization. 
  • Provide timely feedback and reporting to the NSM and Senior Management regarding their sales performance. 
  • Analyse and interpret sales reports / trends to ensure proper conversations can be facilitated with merchants. 
  • The effective use of the Mobile Field Application which will assist the NSM to report on important findings and information. 
  • Ensure at all times professional conduct and ensure retail merchants are at all times informed of any new initiates / changes relating to procedures, processes, systems and any other area of the business that will have an impact on their performances.
  • Oversee the interviewing, hiring, and training of sales staff (when there is requirement and has been approved by management)

 


Candidate Requirements

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 
  • Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Sales Management and

   Business Development could be an advantage 

Work experience and skills

  • Previous experience in a sales capacity within the Financial Services Industry will be an advantage with a proven sales track record.
  • Self-Starter with high degree of motivation and initiative.
  • Excellent Communication and Relationship Building Skills.
  • New Business Development Experience.
  • Good Planning Skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly.
  • High Degree of Resilience and Persistency.
  • Results Orientated.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Analytical Skills (analyse reports that may inform decision making)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, such as Word / Excel / Outlook
  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Valid driver’s license is a requirement
  • Reliable car with valid license
  • Willingness to travel on a daily basis
  • Candidate must reside in the area
