Factory Manager

This is an excellent opportunity to become a part of a young, dynamic and growing business operating in the broadly defined packaging manufacturing space with its operations in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.

The machinery employed in the factory has all been purpose designed and built by members of the business and includes automated plastic form cut and trim machines as well as various quality testing equipment.

This is undoubtedly a hands-on role and we're specifically looking for a multi-talented technician with both mechanical and electrical skills to take responsibility for all maintenance, repair and machine building activities associated with the machinery and equipment on site.

Essential requirements of the role include:

* Minimum qualification: National Diploma / BTech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
* Minimum 5 years' hands on maintenance/repair/machine building experience including pneumatic and electrical machine control and PLC programming.

A plus if you also bring:

* Operations management including supply chain knowledge and experience.

You're good at:

* Fault-finding and coming up with creative repair solutions on both electrical and mechanical machine systems
* Putting a structured machinery maintenance plan together and carrying out maintenance and repair work with precision and efficiency.
* Reading and producing detailed technical drawings on one or other CAD system
* Using MS Office suite

Responsibilities will also include you:

* P roviding technical support during manufacturing processes, after-sales and technical support for customers.
* Occasionally undertaking both national and international travel on behalf of the company if required.
