The primary purpose of the role is to drive the strategic direction of the company’s Credit Card business, across various partners. The incumbent will develop the strategy, execution roadmap and customer value proposition, based on insights and best practices to ensure maximum penetration of market segments. The incumbent will also be responsible for the customer experience across the value chain and ongoing development of the credit card product and features. 




·         Assess the effectiveness of the existing credit card product in delivering against diverse cardholder needs, relative to the competitive landscape

·         Manage existing product lines and develop strategy across all distribution channels, ensuring prioritisation for growth

·         Leverage data and industry trends to identify opportunities to develop new products or enhance positioning, pricing, promotion, and benefits of existing credit card products

·         Drive flawless execution of new credit card product launches. Define product requirements and rollout plan, based on cardholder insights, knowledge of competitive and industry trends, and financial goals

·         Serve as the Project Sponsor/Owner and work with project management professionals to create and manage project plans, addressing necessary IT, marketing, channel, risk and compliance components

·         Develop and collaborate on new credit card product, channel, and business partner proposals—from initial ideation through performance evaluation - for the effects on growth, effectiveness and business profitability

·         Create a seamless customer experience from acquisition to full customer life cycle while meeting the digital and home banking needs of the customer

·         Responsible for ensuring growth and revenue targets are met while effectively managing the associated expenses, compliance and risks, overall profit and loss accountability 

·         Provide thought leadership and best practice to ensure competitive advantage

·         Develop and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to enable the company to meet its strategic objectives

·         Effective integration with central teams and delivery of group integration requirements

·         Lead direct reports and their teams to ensure optimal performance, engagement and succession

Candidate Requirements

Requirements and Competencies


·         A relevant and applicable Bachelors’ Degree or higher

·         10 years’ experience in a Senior Management role within Financial Services

·         Credit Card experience essential

·         Expert understanding of the Financial Services industry with an emphasis on product offerings and revenue levers

·         Business acumen

·         Strong leader

·         Numeric and analytical skills

·         Financial management and the understanding of profit and loss - the continuation of existing business as well as the generation of new business

·         Substantial understanding of customer/market research, data analytics and insights

·         Systemic thinking

·         Innovation and solutions focus

·         Clarity and simplicity of communication

·         Strong presentation skills (written, verbal and presentation-related)

·         Articulate, rational, coherent and persuasive

·         Disciplined, business focused delivery and impact-astute

·         Effective relationship management and collaboration skills
