The main purpose of this position is to provide general administrative and specialist Human Resources support to both employees and Line Management with focus on injuries on duty, labour relations, employee benefits such as pension & provident fund, risk benefits, medical aid, possible disabilities and recruitment.


  • To ensure that each employee has the required completed nomination of beneficiary forms on file
  • To manage each and every death benefit claim ensuring the appropriate processes are followed
  • To ensure that every branch has at least one health and wellness day per annum
  • To ensure that the fund is informed of all possibly disabilities immediately upon becoming aware of the situation
  • To manage the process ensuring the required legal processes are followed in terms of temporary or permanent disability

  • To manage the administration surrounding a possible disability claim ensuring all parties are kept informed at all times and that the required documentation is obtained and submitted as required
  • To take ownership of all relevant processes in terms of Industrial Relations so ensuring that risks are minimised whilst company rules are adhered to and employees perform at the required level
  • To manage the maternity programme from start to finish
  • To assist employees with medical aid queries and if unable to assist to refer the employees to the relevant Financial Advisor
  • To ensure that all new employees join the company medical aid if not already on a spouse medical aid. The application needs to be submitted within the first month of employment
  • To ensure that payroll is informed when the employee commences maternity leave and also when returning to work to ensure remuneration is calculated correctly
  • To assist and provide guidance to management in terms of the process of performance management of staff not performing at the required level
  • To ensure that each CCMA referral is dealt with appropriately and that all required parties are kept informed of the status
  • To compile charge sheets that are legally defensible
  • To take ownership of the process of arranging hearings and counselling sessions ensuring speedily resolution of disputes
  • To inform the fund of any injuries on duty that may have a possible effect on employee capacity now and in the future
  • To ensure that the Quarterly reports is completed 100% accurately and submitted to Novatel and HR Executive by the last day of the 3rd month
  • General HR administration

Candidate Requirements


  • Grade 12
  • National Certificate in Human Resources
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience 
  • VIP Premier
  • Unisa LRA


Experience with:

  • Basic Conditions of Employment Act 
  • Employment Equity Act 
  • Labour Relations Act 
  • Pension & Provident fund benefits 
  • Injuries on duty
