To manage the total Engineering Function




  • Individual must be on site and be responsible GMR 2(1) for the site
  • Design and maintenance of Policies, Procedures and systems
  • Plant and equipment compliant to OSHACT
  • Manage Capex Projects
  • Manage the Operational Engineering Function
  • Provide support and advice to Operational processes
  • Manage Productivity through automation
  • Stay abreast of new technology
  • Ensure efficient processing through continuous improvement projects
  • Coordinate training programs for the engineering function to ensure growth in technical expertise through an internal feeder scheme
  • Implement equipment purchasing policy
  • Implement Manufacturing Excellence Customs and Practices (TPM)

  • Ability to lead and manage projects
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHACT
  • To manage the Engineering function to meet manufacturing targets

Candidate Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • Applicable degree or diploma (Mechanical/Industrial) at NQF 6 level
  • Government Certificate of Competency – GCC Factories
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a FMCG Environment with knowledge of canning and paste manufacturing processes
  • Computer Literacy
  • Sound knowledge preventative maintenance systems
  • Must have the expertise to lead maintenance personnel in solving electrical, mechanical and related problems on the shop floor
  • Must have knowledge and expertise to align the engineering function with manufacturing and technical requirements
  • Negotiation skills
  • Ability to identify and establish future equipment technology requirements
  • Problem solving ability
