A POSITION HAS ARISEN AT SALDANHA SALES & MARKETING (PTY) LTD FOR A FULLTIME CREDIT CONTROLLER (SENIOR)  THIS POSITION IS BASED IN PLATTEKLOOF, PAROW, CAPE TOWN.

Job functions:

  • New clients - liaise with client to complete credit application
  • Process credit application with credit burea/insurance company and obtain relevant credit limit
  • Open account and grant credit to approved clients only and load the credit limit received from the burea/insurance company
  • Monitor customer credit limits constantly and adjust accordingly with approval from burea/insurance company
  • Orders may not be released when credit limits are exceeded
  • Hand over the debt in accordance with insurance company policy
  • Phone customers for outstanding monies when necessary and timeously.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with customers and their accounting staff relating to payment of monies owing to us.
  • Process and allocate payments, refunds, direct deposits, R.D. cheques and re-deposits.
  • Handle all customer queries including obtaining of P.O.D.’s, copies of invoices and credit notes when requested.
  • Maintain a comprehensive register of all contacts with clients, notes on calls made and status of queries 
  • Maintain updated client email and customer detail on debtors database
  • Process credit notes or journal entries daily to be released by the Financial Manager/Director.

Required Skills

  • fmcg experience : 7 to 8 years
  • accpac administration : 7 to 8 years
  • debtors collection : 7 to 8 years
  • sage300 : 7 to 8 years

Candidate Requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years debtors collection experience in FMCG, Retail and Wholesale market experience
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and telephonic) in English and Afrikaans
  • Customer service experience
  • Sage 300 (ACCPACC) experience 
  • Microsoft Word / Excel
  • Experience on EDI and retail portholes
  • Ability to take initiative, problem solving and work with other team members in achieving common goals
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Previous experience in writing procedures and setting up of systems will be an advantage
