•Supervising, planning, organizing and controlling production output

•Manage attendance and timekeeping

•Ensure correct manning level for the production output required

•Providing on-the-job training to all subordinates

•Responsible for housekeeping in work area.

•Ensuring safety, health, environmental and quality standards are adhered to

•Report any unsafe equipment, working condition

•Ensure daily reporting of machine downtime/production records are done

•Control of consumables.

•Monitor, appraise, council and discipline employees in Department

•Ensure latest level of work instructions are being displayed on the floor

•Ensure product are being manufacture to the correct quality standard

•Administration functions, data capturing and reporting

•Maintain personnel records, timekeeping and disciplinary matters

•Analyze production data in order to identify opportunities for improvement

•Continuous improvement efforts e.g. cost & time of welding procedures

•Advise and implement improvements pertaining to process flow, production output and effective utilization of employees

•Control operational cost with the emphasis on waste elimination


Required Skills

  • leadership : 3 to 4 years
  • production : 2 to 3 years

Candidate Requirements

•NQF 4 & Accredited Certification in Production Management/ Production Technology

•At least 3 years leadership experience within an automotive manufacturing environment

•Excellent Problem Solving Techniques

•Understanding of quality management principles

•Familiar with machining and assembly environment

•Knowledge in quality management ISO/TS16949

•Good Computer literacy skills (Microsoft Excel & Word)

•Able to work shifts

•Ability to respond positively to meeting stringent deadlines

•Good communicator at all levels of the organization

•Results-driven individual

•Strong leadership skills

•Familiar with current labourlegislation and best people leadership practices.

•Knowledge in the operation and programming of KUKA Robots system KRC 2 or 4 (would be an advantage)

•Ability to learn and understand different / new robot software easily and quickly. (would be an advantage)

•Knowledge in glue application systems. (would be an advantage)
