The successful incumbent will be responsible for:
The full financial function within the organisation including financial reporting
Preparation of management and statutory information for both internal and external stakeholders
Treasury management and risk management
The individual will be expected to implement the principles of good corporate governance and participate and contribute to investment and strategic decision-making.
Scope of Work
Develop and implement the organizational financial plans in alignment with the approved organizational strategy.
Provide effective financial control and leadership to the Company whilst working as an integral part of the team.
Ensure the existence of robust financial risk management strategies and policies to mitigate against risks that face the company
Implement continuous financial auditing and control systems to evaluate and monitor organizational performance.
Prepare and present the annual financial statements and other related reports.
Report on operational activities, efficiencies, and variances in line with laws, regulations and policy.
Implement and ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies as well as best practices that are suitable to the Company
Prepare annual budget and consolidative business unit budgets, financial and business plans, feasibility studies and other operational plans for approval by the Board.
Monitor and report on all accounting irregularities, non compliance and gaps which are related to financial systems and processes (actual and potential), and recommend corrective measures.
Manage service level agreements with suppliers including accountants and auditors, consultants, underwriters, etc.
Develop and maintain working relationships with other financial institutions and regulatory bodies to operationalise working plans and corporate governance.
Develop and continuously improve accounting systems including software and other financial communication systems.
Initiate and engage in all manner of activities that will ensure financial health, growth and achievement of business goals.
Attract, develop, and retain talented staff including fostering of a high performance culture.
