Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting internal briefs and provide direction. Collaborating with key team members to deliver high quality work.

  • Building and growing internal relationships. Being able to present to other staff and clients in a clear and exciting manner.

  • Responsible for ensuring check-ins with your line-manager in order to meet deadlines.

  • Effectively managing production timelines and be responsible towards deadlines.

  • Adhering to processes and standards of delivery.

  • Keeping up to date with current and emerging UX trends and technologies.

  • Managing multiple projects and assist in the coordination of the project team.

  • Guiding work across multiple disciplines. Running internal UX workshops.

  • Contributing to improving internal efficiency solutions. Seeking out opportunities for self-development.

  • Generating scope of work for projects in collaboration with various specialist teams. Providing timings based on scope of work.

Primary Tasks:

  • Junior staff mentorship and career growth assistance. Current platform audits.

  • Heuristic evaluation / Expert review. Best practice example analysis.

  • Developing user needs from user research & data analysis.

  • User journey & persona creation. Information architecture.

  • Wireframing. Prototyping. Recommendations. User testing.

Secondary Tasks:

  • User interface design. Responsive & adaptive design methodologies.

  • Platform rollout. UI interaction guidelines / animations. Build briefs / specifications.

Candidate Requirements

Skills and Experience:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • 3+ years industry experience working on the UX for the creation and/or enhancement of digital platforms.
  • A strong portfolio of recent web / digital work that illustrates a focus on UX design.
  • High competency in chosen IA & wireframe method (Drawing by hand / Sketch / Adobe Suite: XD, Illustrator, Photoshop etc.).
  • Natural problem solver with a distinct curiosity for how things work and why they work the way they do.
  • A fascination with human behavior - how people think and respond in different situations.
  • A natural ability to apply empathy. This is, to advocate for the user by placing yourself in their shoes, understanding the pain points they experience when interacting with a particular system.
  • A strong interest in and focus on ‘the user’, their needs and objectives.
  • A strong understanding of digital design application. (Designing for digital platforms).
  • A strong understanding of responsive design methodologies. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A desire and ability to lead and mentor junior members of your team.
  • Good communication, planning and time management skills necessary to meet deadlines.
  • An awareness of new technologies / methodologies within the user experience design space.
  • When pressure is high, and issues arise, you have the experience to take ownership and lead from the front, providing relevant next steps to success.
  • Experience in the following would be a bonus:
    • Experience working on the UX design for large enterprise platforms / SaaS products.
    • Experience working in Sketch, Adobe After Effects, Adobe XD, Keynote, InVision
    • An understanding of what is required from the front-end side of the project lifecycle. (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
