SAMRC- HIV PREVENTION RESEARCH UNIT

The HIV Prevention Research unit has the following two posts available in Durban office.

The HIV Prevention Research Unit (HPRU) requires a skilled/experienced Pharmacist to establish and maintain a research pharmacy and to implement internal policies and procedures for the safe and proper management and accountability of study products as well as non-investigational drugs.  The incumbent must manage the position in compliance to all regulatory aspects of the Pharmacy and Pharmacy systems with the South African Pharmacy Council and the Medicines Control Council.

PHARMACIST :

• Bachelor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent

• at least one year experience post community service

• registration with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist

• 1-year contract

• salary in the region of R634 554 per annum.

PROJECT MANAGER

• Master’s Degree in the Biomedical or Social Science environment

• 5 years’ relevant research experience

• 3 years’ project management experience

• knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is essential

• 1-year contract

• salary in the region of R604 495 per annum.
