One of SA’s leading financial institutions, based in the Western Cape, is looking for a Financial & Commercial candidate (or Gradate) to act as an assistant Manager to the Commercial Manager within the Commercial department (Finance, Procurement, FHD).  This position’s responsibilities and duties will include areas such as financial and budget control, asset management, parking administration, helpdesk activities, MIS reporting and applicable personnel management.  Also an outstanding opportunity for short to mid-term growth on proven success within the role.

Specialist skills and knowledge:

  • Knowledge of HR principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of disciplinary code and practice
  • Knowledge of corporate financial structures (cost centre and company)
  • Understanding of Supply Chain
  • Knowledge of Budget process
  • Knowledge of authority levels & approval frameworks
  • IT Systems (enterprise architecture, analysis)
  • VAT & Tax related knowledge
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, Internet, MS Outlook, MS Sharepoint, client ERP systems
  • Proficiency in understanding and/or mapping workflows
  • Good understanding of sound, fair and ethical commercial and procurement practices and requirements; and how the integration of systems and processes can promote this

Education/Experience/Qualifications required:

  • Grade 12
  • Appropriate Financial / Management Degree
  • Additional IT-related qualification would be an advantage
  • 2 – 3 Years’ management experience
  • 3 – 5 Years’ experience in Financial Accounting (and IT) environment
  • Operational experience and field expertise
  • High degree of computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Financial Modelling, Budget Modelling and Pricing
  • Variance Analysis
  • Profit monitoring and cost control
  • Reporting
  • Knowledge of IT systems and interfaces would be an advantage

CTC Salary Package:        R450 000 per annum
