Situated on a private quay, nestled between the working harbour of Cape Town’s bustling Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and the serenity of an international yacht marina, Cape Grace showcases the essence of the Cape with designs that reveal local creativity, whilst staying true to the warm atmosphere and personalised levels of service that have for years defined the hotel.
We place a great deal of importance on welcoming new members to our family. The intensive induction and our God Parent programme ensures that new team members feel right at home. When recruiting, our philosophy is to employ individuals with values and attributes that mirror the hotel's. While skills are important, we look for authenticity and a passion towards genuine, abundantly generous service. In this way we feel that our employees can contribute immediately and experience a sense of place from day one.
As our people are our most important keys to success, we focus on their growth and development with as much passion as we devote to our guests. Cape Grace prides itself on its exceptional employment practices; training and development programmes; and our focus on staff welfare is of utmost importance. We are extremely proud of our extensive training curriculum and our focus on the "coaching and mentoring" approach to development. The importance of driving one’s own career is preeminent. Our people are encouraged to take a proactive approach to their own development and to motivate for specific courses that they feel would be beneficial. Much of our training is conducted in-house, through the added benefit of having our very own Hotel Trainer.
Our all-important values are kept alive through the dedication of all team members. The example for this dedication is set by “the originals” – a group of amazing people who have been with the hotel since it opened.
Do you have what it takes to meet the demanding requirements of a Cape Grace team member?
