• A detailed Curriculum Vitae.

• Confirmation of employment in the form of a letter, appointment contract, service certificate, or recent payslip from your current or most recent employer (applicable to external applicants only).
Duties and responsibilities:
• Design English language modules and contribute to curriculum development.
• Coordinate first-year English modules and course facilitators.
• Teach English modules to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Engage actively in research in the fields of English Language Studies / Applied Linguistics/ Language Teaching.
• Supervise postgraduate students.
• Perform general administrative duties as required at university level.
Inherent requirements:
• A PhD on NQF Level 10 in Applied Linguistics/English Language Studies/Language Teaching (for a permanent appointment),
or
• Master’s degree on NQF Level 9 in Applied Linguistics/English Language Studies/Language Teaching (contract appointment: five years during which a PhD on NQF Level 10 in Applied Linguistics/English Language Studies/Language Teaching MUST be obtained to be converted to a permanent appointment).
• Proven experience in the delivery of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
• Evidence of manuscripts produced that have the potential to be converted or submitted for publication in accredited journals.
• A good academic record (attach a copy).
Recommendations:
• A PhD on NQF Level 10 in Applied Linguistics/English Language Studies/Language Teaching or proof of registration.
• Three years relevant experience in teaching English in higher education.
• Proven research record.

01 August 2026 or as soon as possible.
