KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Training Officer, Jumbo Drill Rig

The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometers west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometers west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To improve drilling, safety and production standards and lower maintenance costs, by enhancing the capabilities of Drill Rig Trainers and Operators, through knowledge transfer by refreshing and Training. The incumbent provides and executes underground Best Practice, Refreshers training, Learning from Incidents training, post training observations, generic risk management and workplace related safety training, to ensure that KCSA mining employees are competent to safely and efficiently perform their work as Drill Rig operators.

You will have the following:

• Must be Licenced to operate Drill Rigs (282, M2C, Simba, M20
• Must have Multi-licence (Sandvik, Bell, Caterpillar etc on various U/G Drill Rig equipment) certificates
• Must have at least 6 years of underground drilling experience.
• Must have at least 3 years of experience working as a Trainer.
• Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French and Swahili will be considered highly advantageous.

• Deliver and Refresh Drill Rig Operator training as per the operating plan

• Function as a Drilling subject matter expert
• Stakeholder Management - Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation

• Finance - Monitor costs or expenses within approved budget to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce waste
