About the Role

Our client, a leading organization based in Parktown, is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Architect to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure solutions. This role focuses on infrastructure architecture, not software development, and requires a deep understanding of Azure, DevOps, and Terraform within enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

· Design and implement Azure-based cloud infrastructure in line with business and security requirements.

· Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for automated deployments.

· Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation processes using Azure DevOps.

· Oversee cloud infrastructure operations, including networking, storage, identity management, and monitoring.

· Collaborate with data engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure system reliability and compliance.

· Optimize cloud performance, cost, and scalability through continuous improvement.

· Implement best practices for cloud governance, disaster recovery, and security.

· Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and documentation for infrastructure projects.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

· Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

· 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Solutions Architect (infrastructure-focused) with a strong emphasis on Azure, DevOps, and Terraform.

· Proven experience in designing and managing Azure environments, including networking, storage, and identity solutions.

· Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.

· Hands-on experience with Terraform for provisioning and managing Azure resources.

· Strong background in cloud security, governance, and monitoring.

· Familiarity with data engineering principles and integration within cloud infrastructure.

· Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer)
