A well-established food manufacturing company based in Pietermaritzburg is seeking an experienced Factory Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure the smooth running of the production facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and hands-on leader with a strong background in food production management to take ownership of production performance, quality assurance, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a passion for operational excellence, process improvement, and maintaining high safety and quality standards within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Oversee all aspects of factory operations, including production planning, quality control, maintenance, and staff management.
• Monitor production efficiency, waste reduction, and adherence to manufacturing targets.
• Implement and maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in line with industry regulations.
• Manage inventory levels, raw materials, and production schedules to ensure timely product delivery.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement effective solutions to enhance productivity.
• Ensure machinery and equipment are properly maintained to prevent downtime.
• Lead, train, and motivate production teams to achieve operational goals.
• Prepare and present production reports and performance metrics to senior management.
  

• A relevant qualification in Production Management, Food Technology, or Industrial Engineering.
• Proven experience as a Factory Manager or in a similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment (preferably food production).
• Strong understanding of production processes, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Attention to detail with a strong commitment to operational excellence.
• Proficient in MS Office and production management software.
