Hire Resolve is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Manager on behalf of our client, a prominent player in the mining and logistics industry based in Johannesburg. This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified CA(SA) to join a dynamic organization involved in large-scale operations, where strategic financial leadership is key to supporting growth and operational excellence.


Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with business and operational goals

• Oversee cost management, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective project execution

• Prepare and interpret financial statements and reports in compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements

• Ensure adherence to relevant financial legislation, tax laws, and internal/external audit requirements

• Identify, assess, and manage financial risks across the business

• Maintain optimal cash flow to support operations, working capital, and investment activities

• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, offering mentorship, guidance, and performance management

• Provide insightful financial analysis and strategic advice to executive leadership

• Partner with departments including operations, engineering, and commercial to support business objectives

• Prepare and interpret annual financial statements

• Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts

• Develop and manage budgets and forecasts

• Prepare and analyze monthly project reporting

• Perform all taxation calculations and ensure tax compliance

• Develop and prepare comprehensive business plans for the company

Requirements

• CA(SA) qualification

• Registered member of SAICA

• Minimum of 8 years of financial reporting and management experience

• At least 5 years of experience in the mining industry

• Non-negotiable experience in the mining and logistics sectors

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, and financial compliance frameworks

• Proven leadership and team development skills

• Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving ability

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Sage, or equivalent)
