A well established company, based in Pretoria requires a Bookkeeper / Administrator:
DUTIES:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, Pastel)
- Reconcile bank and supplier statements
- Assist with monthly general ledger reconciliations
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with SARS regulations
- Assist with payroll processing and relevant reconciliations.
- Maintain and update filing systems (electronic and paper)
- Ensure proper documentation and archiving of financial records
- Assist with supplier and customer account maintenance
- Handle incoming queries related to invoices, payments, and statements
- Support the finance team with general administrative tasks
- Conducting and submissions of beneficial ownership records
- Submissions of annual returns via CIPC
- Submissions to the Compensation Fund
- SARS related administration (e.g. representative registrations, PAYE registrations, VAT registrations)
- Capture invoices, receipts, and other financial data into accounting systems
- Verify accuracy of information before inputting into systems
- Maintain data integrity and confidentiality at all times
- Ensure timely and efficient processing of financial data
- Support monthly reporting processes by preparing data for review
Candidate Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Matric / Grade 12 with Accounting as a subject
- Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor’s in Bookkeeping / Accounting / Office Administration (Advantageous)
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in Outlook and MS Office especially Excel
- Experience with Accounting Software (Sage, Xero and Pastel)
- Knowledge of South African tax regulations and statutory submissions (VAT, PAYE, UIF)

- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Confidential and trustworthy with financial data
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
