Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To manage, coordinate, control and oversee the safe and effective preparation, equipment inspections, and wastewater treatment according to production targets. The incumbent supervises specialists to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Water Treatment plant.

You will have the following:

• Degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering
• Must have at least 8 years' relevant Wastewater treatment experience with proven experience in building and commissioning a Wastewater treatment plant
• At least 5+ years’ experience in a supervisory position, preferably in starting up a team to be fully functional
• Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French, Swahili, and Mandarin will be considered highly advantageous.

Role Specific Knowledge:

• Operating Wastewater treatment plant machines or equipment
• Troubleshooting （to determine causes of operating errors and establish remedial actions）
• Understanding Smelting methodologies specific to the Wastewater treatment plant
• Production and Smelter Standard Operating Procedures
• Ability to deal with emergencies in the plant

Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to: 

• Manage and maintain the Wastewater treatment plant to ensure safe and efficient operations of the Smelter Acid plant
• Supervise and implement Wastewater treatment plant’s Design, Construction & Commissioning
• Ensure, organise and coordinate the timely and systematic operation of the Water treatment plant
• Responsible for production operations to meet the monthly and annual production targets
• Drive effective problem-solving and continuous improvement
• Stakeholder Management: Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
• People - Coordinate, monitor and supervise the performance of direct reports
• Finance: Monitor costs or expenses within approved budget to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce waste
