Key responsibilities
· Financial control - Monthly Accounting
– Preparation of monthly accounts within 5 weeks after month end
– Review and sign-off of monthly accounts within 6 weeks after month end
– Preparation and review of the quarterly C48 Reports
· Financial control - Accounts Processing
– Process journal entries to General Ledger
– Review monthly bank reconciliations
– Checking and releasing payments
· Fund audits and fund accounting
– Planning and managing project deliverables
– Training of Fund Accountants
– Management of Fund Accountants
– Review and preparation of working papers
– Review and preparation of Annual Financial Statements
– Regulation 28 reviews and preparations for Annual Financial Statements
– Ensuring submission of AFS within 6 months of year end
– Responding to the FSCA queries
– Internal post-audit review with fund accountants
– Implementation and streamlining of processes
– Weekly/fortnightly meetings to be held with admin managers to prioritise operational tasks and for development and implementation of controls Reviewing and sign-off
– Query resolution
· Troubleshooting and development
– Analyse reports from Everest and develop these reports further according to the needs which may arise from Annual Financial Year Audits, trustee requirements, benefits requirements
· General communication
– Query logging and escalation
– Internal feedback
– External feedback
· General and collation of reports
– Generate system reports
· Activity management

Required Skills
- Fund Accounting: 5 to 6 years
- Everest: 3 to 4 years
- Employee Benefit Fund Accounting: 4 to 5 years
Candidate Requirements
Skills and experience required
· Matric with Mathematics,
· Completed Degree or Diploma in Finance
· Minimum of 5 years working experience in similar environment
· Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel Advanced, PowerPoint, Outlook)
· Sound understanding of systems and experience with working with developers &
Programmers will be an advantage.
