Vacancy Details
Employer: Ferro South Africa (Pty) Ltd
- General fitting work to machinery and equipment as and when required for which training has been received.
- Responsible for maintenance activities around the plant.
- Preventative Maintenance to be carried out as per Planned Schedules for the maintenance management system FIIX.
- Supply feedback on all job cards for work performed.
- Carry out cleaning work in the plant and to machinery with the H.P. cleaning unit.
- Adhere to all safety regulations with reference to tasks that are required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
- May be required to carry out any other tasks for which training has been received.
- Collecting and delivering equipment and material.
- May be required to drive a forklift.
- Be available on shutdown periods.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
- General maintenance on all machinery and equipment
- Maintain daily maintenance records on the planned maintenance system
- Assist plant with breakdowns
- Standby duties and call out, may be required to work overtime as and when required
- Undertake other duties & responsibilities as directed within scope and / or experience
Required Skills
- Manufacturing Environment: 5 to 6 years
- Mechanical: 5 to 6 years
Candidate Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) – Not negotiable
- Fitter Trade test certificate.
- 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Working unsupervised
- Follow workshop manuals
- Service/test mechanical equipment, conveyor belts, gearbox’s and extruders
- Service of Hydraulic and pneumatic components
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to set high goals/standards of performance for self
- Excellent attention to detail
- Self-organized
- Ability to multi-task in fast-paced dynamic environment
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Able to meet deadlines
