We are looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions for the Modena Group, this will include but not limited to fixed payments and variable expenses and budgets, The role also includes auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns.
To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for numerical accuracy.
Ultimately, you will provide the organization with accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity, and cash flows of our business, while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax regulations.
Managing all financial aspects of the business (Full financial function)
Prepare budget forecasts
Experience in working capital and cash flow management
Experience in Forex (Rates and Booking)
Accounting function to, and publishing of financial statements timeously
Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Ensure timely bank payments
Payroll (PAYE, SARS, UIF, SETA)
Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
Audit financial transactions and documents
Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
Comply with financial policies and regulations
Requirements and skills
10 years to 15 years of work experience as an Accountant/ Assistant Accountant
Tertiary Education within Finance (B.COM Degree Financial Management or higher)
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures
Management and leadership skills (1 employee)
Hands-on experience with accounting software specifically Sage 300
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
Experience with general ledger functions
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
Nice to have
Tax Practitioner Professional Registration (SAIPA or CIMA)
Microsoft Power BI to bring together financial key performance indicators (KPIs), charts, and financial statements.
