A career opportunity exists for a Quality Control Technician on a permanent basis to join our NATIONAL BRANDS LIMITED, South Beach (Durban), Tea Factory. This role will be reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor. The successful candidate will form part of the Tea Quality Assurance team and support Quality, Food Safety, and Environmental Management Systems. The incumbent will assist in ongoing product quality improvements through plant trials, HACCP, and ISO projects. To ensure that all Finished Goods leaving the factory are of the best quality, meeting all the set specifications and the food safety criteria.
Key Performance Areas:
Maintenance of high Quality, GMP, hygiene, and housekeeping standards
To ensure that the highest quality products are produced through regular checks against pre-determined standards and capturing results in the manufacturing system
To protect the brands by stopping the processing and packing of non-conforming products with corrective and preventive action.
To ensure CCPs and OPRPs are monitored and issues identified communicated and corrected
To support Food Safety through GMPs being upheld at all times.
To assist in ongoing product/plant quality improvements through plant trials, HACCP, and ISO standards.
Assist with customer complaints reductions.
At least 2 years of experience in the FMCG industry within a Food Manufacturing Company
A completed Diploma in Food Technology/Science/Biotechnology
Ability to work shifts essential
SAP knowledge will be an added advantage
Basic knowledge, exposure to Good Manufacturing Practices (AIBI), ISO22000, ISO14001 systems, and PRPs
