We are looking for an expericenced Procurement and Logistics Manager to join a company based in stilbaai. The Procurement and Logistics Manager is to manage the company’s supply of materials, products and services and all logistics thereof. The Procurement and Logistics Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and approving new suppliers as well as the maintenance of an approved suppliers list
Duties & Responsibilities
Devising and using fruitful procurement and sourcing strategies
Procurement of stock items based on need and budget.
Negotiating with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
Developing & Maintaining supplier & partnership base
Track and report key functional metrics related to procurement function and logistics
Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
Stock Control – documenting and tracking stock movements.
Getting courier quotations and arranging of deliveries
Managing monthly stock take in all areas.
Stock take verification and scrutiny of all areas
Issuing of Purchase Requisition forms to the Admin-department
Collaborating with the procurement assistant in terms of goods needed, suppliers to be used and agreeing on prices
Arranging transportation of finished goods and export orders from brand home.
Arranging transportation of packaging material to brand home to maintain optimum stock levels.
Issuing of dry goods to production
Responsible to ensure good housekeeping in storage areas.
Compiling a procurement plan based on available forecast to ensure adequate stock cover
Managing procurement cost against budget.
Conducting supplier benchmarking and supplier evaluations.
Take the lead role in the administration of the Company’s export activities.
Preparation and processing all aspects of export documentation, from order through to shipment.
Liaising with Production and Purchasing functions to efficiently schedule production and delivery.
Point of contact for Customers, Salesmen, and Agents for enquiries relating to orders.
Negotiation of freight rates (Road and Ocean).
Plan and implement transport activities in a cost-effective manner.
Control of consignment stocks held at customer sites.
Preparation and submission of statutory returns e.g., SARS Duties, etc
Desired Experience & Qualification
Tertiary qualification (diploma/degree) – qualification in logistics and procurement
Proven working experience in procurement and stock management (minimum 3 years’ experience)
Forklift driving license would be an advantage
Valid driving licence – minimum code 8
Package & Remuneration
R25k - R30k pm depending on expereince and qualifications
