Our client, in the manufacturing industry, requires the service of an experience Millwright who will be responsible for maintaining and improving manufacturing process equipment and ensuring that machinery is operating optimally in a clean and organized environment.
Key performance areas:
Perform daily scheduled maintenance activities in accordance with safety procedures and department working standard
Analyse technical problems immediately as and when they arise on the packaging lines & process areas and make the necessary repairs and/or corrective measures
Optimize available resources, contain cost, improve machine productivity
Project planning and execution of technical improvements
The successful candidate must have:
Matric with a N3 Millwright qualification with good electronic skills
Must be a Qualified Artisan
5 years’ experience in maintenance of equipment in FMCG/Beverage industry
Experience in maintenance and operation of electronic packaging equipment
Experience in working on filling machines, labelling machines, conveyors, printers and glue units
Knowledge and understanding of relevant statutory regulations (OHS Act, HACCP)
Knowledge of world class manufacturing principles with a specific understanding of lean manufacturing
Ability to identify and analyse process challenges/shortcomings
Root cause analysis tools and implementation of solutions
Must have a clear understanding of the role of a technician within a FMCG production environment
Strong technical aptitude fault finding
Machine specialist in bottling environment would be advantageous
Basic computer skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English & Afrikaans)
Knowledge of preventative maintenance system
Basic PLC programming would be advantageous
Good problem solving skills, electrical wiring, and problem solving.
