Build a Process Design Centre of Excellence; grow and develop process engineering capability by creating new standards, methodologies, and tools to ensure continuously improving and consistent process design quality across the business.
Create an environment of innovation, quality, and ownership within the Process Design team
Support the Head of Design in creating and articulating a wider Design Office strategy to deliver a truly exceptional customer experience and process excellence across the organisation.
Work with customer and business metrics and measurements to both monitor and manage the quality of design delivery and to create tangible insights needed for the decision making.
Stay abreast of industry trends and role players and ensure that RBB is well-positioned to provide competitive and industry leading Process Design.
Thought Leadership and Innovation
Formulate the long-term strategy for the end-to-end product and customer journeys in the organisation and conceptualize the impact of the strategy on individual BU/channel processes.
Prioritize and design scalable, efficient, effective, cost-efficient processes that deliver significant
customer and business value (e.g., experience, cost savings, quality, and resource utilization)
Drive innovation across the organisation’s product and process design, challenging the existing thinking and limitations to deliver step change in customer and colleague experience.
Act as a thought partner to business and channel leadership, providing insights and advice based on deep expertise in process design methodologies (e.g., lean, six Sigma), understanding of new and advanced technologies and global best practice.
Plan, lead and guide multiple process design project teams within the portfolio space, ensuring rigorous data-driven approach, timely delivery of agreed milestones, and high process design quality.
Drive a great and consistent customer and colleague experience across a highly complex area, with a large number of stakeholders and competing priorities, ensuring focus on highest impact areas and delivery of exceptional outcomes.
Combine the understanding of the business strategic intent and analytical insights into tangible project proposals and briefs, with large value-add to the business; support Process Design Managers in translating these into project scopes and project plans.
Oversee several simultaneous projects, providing guidance and direction across all, and understand where to dive deeper to ensure great delivery. Engage and inspire entire design project teams.
Create a process design ecosystem and physical environment in which process engineers will thrive, be motivated by, and develop as professionals.
Drive the talent pipeline to ensure the right balance of senior and junior talent across different skillsets.
Promote the professional development of the individual process engineers through one-to-one mentoring, training, and providing the right opportunities for development.
Take ownership of building a best practice knowledge base and processes; and creating programs that grow design knowhow in wider RBB.
Positively contribute to the Process Design Community in South Africa
Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas in Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology
3 – 4 years’ Experience in a similar environment at senior management level
5 + Years’ Experience in a similar environment
