Main Purpose: To take charge of receiving and dispatching of all incoming and outgoing goods from stores or storage yards.
Key Performance Areas:
Lift, carry, unpack, load and unload supplies by hand or by using a forklift or front-end loader.
Check quantities of unpacked supplies against delivery notes and purchase orders.
Ensure all goods and hazardous chemicals are stored according to health and safety requirements.
Maintain equipment in a clean and serviceable condition in accordance with the recommended operating practices including the completion of a daily prestart safety check.
Maintain and clean store premises and depot yard.
Issue goods to personnel authorised by a completed Requisition / Reservation/ MIV.
Complete daily cycle counts and provide feedback to the Store Supervisor.
Communicate potential concerns and possible improvements in store’s activities, services and procedures to the Store Supervisor.
Monitor inventory levels and ordering consumables from depot by way of reservation.
Manage the movement of equipment to and from main depot using the appropriate forms (see Logistics Guideline I.26.0005).
Manage the vehicle fleet according to the Logistics Guideline I.26.0005.
Actively participate in stock counts when required.
Any other job related duties as required from time to time.

Matric (grade 12 / N3) with mathematics.
3 years’ relevant working experience.
Demonstrated knowledge in stores duties, and the ability to plan and prioritise work to achieve required outcomes.
Demonstrated keyboard/data entry/word-processing skills. Experience in the use of Microsoft / ERP software packages and other office equipment, e.g. Word, Excel, Access, photocopier, facsimile.
