Our client, in the agricultural industry, requires the service of an Assistant to the Import/Export Manager.

Key performance areas:

  • Manage purchases/good received and check open orders daily (ZM41)
  • Import/export assistance (e.g.: Invoice tariffing, good understanding of import documentation, inbound shipments (late orders-ZV152), ETA updates on system etc., 
  • Assist warehouse Supervisor when needed with incoming stock-(MIGO/receiving of inventory) 
  • Placing of third party orders and update production team.
  • Process of purchase returns local and import 
  • Schedule delivery of incoming shipments, and prioritising of containers accordingly 
  • Regular meeting with production planner, regarding RM, Drippers & Packaging, S & OP   
  • Update system daily 
  • Assist with in-direct purchase orders-finance 
  • Do import documentation filing for Auditing purpose 
  • Inventory planning & forecasting
  • S&OP data compiling & analysing
  • LEAN leader – Supply Chain
  • Assist with cycle counts and stock take.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

  • Matric with a Tertiary qualification related to Purchasing/Import/Export/Stock management / control / Inventory
  • 3+ years working knowledge of SAP
  • 5+ years’ experience of working with inventory ordering, imports & exports
  • Must be fully bilingual (English and Afrikaans) and have excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent telephonic skills
  • Computer literate (Good knowledge of MS Excel & VLook-up)
  • Good Analytical and numeracy skills
  • Have a good sense of responsibility, to be able to work under very little supervision
  • Must be prepared to work after hours on a need to basis 
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license & own reliable transport.
