My client, a well-established company in the fruit industry, is seeking to employ a Stores Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the storage/distribution facility. Successful candidates must have his/her own reliable transport with a valid drivers’ license. A formal logistical or management post matric qualification and a third African Language would be advantageous

Duties:



  • Effective daily management of stock receipt and dispatch processes. Accuracy and the adherence to set processes is non-negotiable

  • The constant and daily management of various stores to ensure stock rotation by FIFO principles. Physical and active involvement is non-negotiable

  • A committed and very involved approach to ensure and oversee the daily accuracy of stock storage, stock picking, daily stock movement and store organization and neatness

  • The daily management of a team of personnel including store men, forklift drivers, delivery truck drivers and assistants

  • Ensuring that company guidelines, policies, target dates and KPI’s are adhered to and met

  • The planning, execution and updating of stock accuracy and daily stock counting


Requirements:



  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to lead while instilling discipline

  • Methods of management to ensure that systems, procedures and standards are set and maintained continuously

  • The ability to function and excel in a very fast paced and high-volume environment, while still maintaining accuracy

  • The ability to efficiently, accurately and timeously communicate (verbally and electronically) on and with various levels within a company structure

  • Organized neatness and cleanliness, accuracy and the pursuit of perfection must be personal attributes which must filter through and become evident in his/her daily routine and tasks

  • Must be medically fit and healthy

  • Must be fluent (verbal and writing) in both English and Afrikaans. A third African language would be advantageous

  • An apt ability to use his/her own initiative in solving daily challenges, while remaining within company guidelines and processes

  • A matric qualification with at least 5 years of store supervisory/management experience. A formal logistical or management post matric qualification would be a definite advantage

  • Computer literacy is essential. A workable understanding of the SAGE X3 stock management program would be an advantage

  • A workable and clear understanding of food handling and all related processes applicable in a food safety accredited company

  • His/her own reliable transport with a code 08 license (non-negotiable)

  • Forklift license / Code 10 licenses would be an advantage

  • Preferably resides in the Helderberg area
