PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE
To manage Financial Reporting, Treasury, Accounts Payable and General Ledger in the Finance Department and all Tax related matters in the company. To prepare all monthly
all monthly Management Accounts and Annual Financial Statements.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

MANAGE STAFF

  • Develop and implement resource scheduling tools and controls
  • Identify recruitment requirements and work with HR to facilitate appointments
  • Conduct performance planning of staff including performance contracting and personal development plans
  • Identify training requirements and motivate related training
  • Monitor staff performance in relation to the contracted Key Performance Area's
  • Coach and mentor staff as required
  • Apply the necessary disciplinary procedures where required
  • Perform performance reviews in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Perform performance appraisals in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Manage leave applications and facilitate adherence to the company's policies
  • Prepare Monthly Management Accounts and Annual Financial Statements
  • Month-end accounting and consolidation journal entries and calculations
  • Various accounting entries such as FEC's, IFRS and Tax
  • Preparation and maintenance of monthly audit files
  • Prepare and review company-wide, regional and departmental management accounts
  • Review month to month and quarterly movement
  • Comparison to budget and prior year as well as to conduct reasonability assessments
  • Produce annual financial statements and statutory reports
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards
  • Submit required information to SARS
  • Submit quarterly statistical information to Stats SAManage Company Tax Returns and All Tax-Related Matters
  • Review month to month and quarterly movement
  • Comparison to budget and prior year as well as to conduct reasonability assessments
  • Liaise with auditors regarding all tax matters
  • Compile and all submit direct & indirect tax returns and related information to SARS
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and tax laws
  • R&D Analysis


STRATEGIC FINANCIAL FORECASTS, BUDGETS AND DELIVERY OF FINANCIAL INFORMATION

  • Long term forecasting and scenario planning
  • Monthly management accounts (overall, departmental and regional)
  • Coordinate the budget and projection process
  • Review the budgets/projections in terms of reasonability
  • Liaise with all budget and projection preparation staff
  • Final Compilation and Distribution of Budget and Projection
  • Monthly reporting to shareholders (quantitative and qualitative)
  • Manage Accounts Payable


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Payment of all suppliers
  • Manage the validity of payments
  • Reconciliation of all supplier accounts
  • Payments to Ad-hoc suppliers
  • Correct allocation of cost


SPECIAL PROJECTS

  • Communicate, implement and live the company strategies and values
  • Drive continuous improvement in customer service levels in all areas of the business
  • Assist in the financial aspect of any existing project
  • Involvement in any financing structure type projects (Due diligence process)

Candidate Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • CA (SA), CIMA, B COMPT Honours
  • 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • 5 years' experience in the managerial role
  • Willing to work extended hours when needed
  • Willing to Travel away from Home
