The purpose of this position is to combine all inter DC requirements across all customers, while ensuring assured supply & vehicle utilization. The role is responsible for all inter DC movements from all DCs and to all DCs. Relationship management, reporting, and expediting on assured supply issues are of importance for the department and the Central Inter DC planner is an important link. A strong sense of urgency and attention to detail are key requirements. The position has to balance the needs of all customers and all teams in the wider supply chain team. This is a skilled level position, where excellent team-work is expected while maintaining exceptional relationships with internal and external stake holders. This position will focus strongly on: Purchasing, forecasting, operations, planning and/or supply planning, supply chain consulting, business intelligence, continuous improvement, management of people Inter DC Planning Assume responsibility for compiling, updating, maintaining and communication of the MF master schedule. Assist planners in filling vehicles & keeping to internal cut-offs for next day loading. On a daily basis build the loads based on the Purchasing team’s requirements Once the vehicle builds are confirmed, ensure MF, DC and Supply Chain are all informed of loading requirements. Obtain inter DC loading documents from the loading DC and communicate any deviations to the relevant purchasing administrator. Obtain inter DC receiving documentation upon receipt and communicate any deviations to the relevant purchasing administrator. Monitor open Inter DC transfers in GP & action with relevant DC. Communicate all changes in requirements and plans to all stakeholders. Customer management Maintain a professional relationship with all stakeholders. Handle queries with customers & DC teams and escalate where needed to the appropriate levels. General Build excellent relationships with DCs, MF customers and suppliers and live the company values. Have weekly telecons/meetings with DCs to align on special requirements. Adhere to quality standards & procedures Adhere to programmes & company policies & procedures. Other Optimise vehicle utilisation & ensure busts are adequately managed. Identify & improve inefficiencies in procedures that could lead to cost overruns. Assertive, well spoken with good verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal, relationship and people management skills with strong negotiation and persuasion skills. An efficient and organised individual with resilience that is a team player. Analytical thinking and using logic to address work-related issues. Understanding key company business processes & practices throughout the organisation. Understand the way in which changes will impact the business process and make recommendations to improve the process. Customer service orientation with a sense of urgency with the ability to deliver results. Meet & exceed customer expectations. As the role functions in an operational, fast paced environment, the incumbent may, from time-to-time required to take on extra tasks within their ability to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and to deliver upon customer requirements. Qualification requirements: Grade 12 (mandatory) Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering. APICS CSCP certification 4-6 Year experience in Procurement, Stock management, Inventory planning FMCG, QSR, Food, Shelf life dependent or related fields Computer literacy with intermediate MS Excel, MS Word, MS Exchange, PowerPoint
