Employer: Salvage Management & Disposals (Pty) Ltd

 

  • Obtain approved documentation for payment from various departments / branches / suppliers.
  • Accurately capture information in the relevant accounting system according to strict company policies.
  • Obtain suppliers statements and all documentation necessary before payment due.
  • Reconcile supplier payment and create payment on the bank.
  • Communicate and follow up daily on unresolved queries with various departments / branches / suppliers.
  • Ensure that all payment documentation comply with policies, procedures and any relevant legislation.
  • Update all relevant management reports with payments.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining creditor information on all relevant systems.
  • Capture and reconcile various petty cash recons.
  • Assist branches, managers and other departments with queries and information.
  • Assisting other creditor’s clerks, when necessary.
  • Retain accrual to a minimum and communicate when necessary.
  • Deadline for payments are to be met at all times.
  • Sending out recons and proof of payments to suppliers.
  • Archive all creditor’s payment with complete documentation.
  • Assist the Finance Department in ad hoc duties, as and when required.

 


Required Skills

  • pastel patner : 4 to 5 years
  • accounts payables : 4 to 5 years
  • Outlook and excel : 4 to 5 years

Candidate Requirements

 

  • The applicant must be proactive, neat, organised and deadline driven.
  • A high level of accuracy is required for this position.
  • Candidates must have a sound track record within a Creditors department with a minimum of 3 - 5 years within accounts payable.
  • Must have basic accounting experience.
  • Petty cash capture and reconciliation would be an advantage.
  • Must have excellent customer service and telephone communication skills.
  • Be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English on a proper and professional level.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Must have Outlook and Excel knowledge.
  • Pastel Partner or Sage X3 knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Credit checks will be done on all successful candidates.
  • An involved creditors recon will be completed by all candidates prior to interview commencement.
