The Event Planner handles customer inquiries and is the point-of-contact for all event details/information. Success will be measured through enquiries conversion rate, customer satisfaction and business development. This postion is also for someone who studied in this industry and looking for an internship.

• Receiving, handling and converting events, meetings and groups enquiries.􀀁
• Presenting and selling available and suitable options to the highest possible standard.
• Planning events in conjunction with the client.
• Arrange and carry out site inspections with the Venue Supervisor.
• Ensure the complete administration and execution of all planned events.
• Ensuring all inquiries are recorded accurately in the related files/tools.􀀁
• Actively manage business bookings, record denials, make network referrals.􀀁
• Each month review the next 6 months availability to highlight high or low demand dates and
take steps to minimize the risk of any shortfall or overbooking.
• Encouraging repeat business through excellent customer service and inquiry handling.
• Build strong relationships with customers to fully understand their needs.
• Helping 180 Lounger to identify new avenues of business.
• Other duties and tasks assigned by the management within the job scope.

Candidate Requirements

• Event Coordination experience.
• Self-starter and must have the desire to drive the business forward.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized and structured thinking for planning and execution purposes.
• Motivated, high level of energy and work ethic with an overall professional demeanor.
• Knowledgeable and always up to date with the industry trends and competitors.
• Dependable and reliable with clear thinking and attention to detail.
• Problem solver.
• Perseverance.
• Professional presentation and ability to communicate with a diverse workforce.
• Solid knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.


Please note this will be a 3months fixed term contract with a possibility of going to perm. Please aslo keep in mind that this vacancy is based in Cape Town.
