Our reputable client who forms part of a unique investment group has more than two decades’ worth of experience in various and often untraditional combinations of investment practice and is currently looking for a Debtors Manager to provide managerial duties regarding all aspects of their Medical Bureau department.

This includes, but not limited to medical debt collection, quality management, collecting information relevant to the doctors and the patients and submitting claims to medical aids, and collection of outstanding accounts.

To be successful in this role, you will need excellent knowledge of ICD10 coding, verbal and written communication skills, as well as competency in Med-e-Mass/Vericlaim/Good-X, Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Excel and Outlook.

Candidate Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervising a team and advising in:
    • Collection and processing of patients’ information and opening patients’ files.
    • Patients billing
    • Process remittance advices / receipts according to standard and procedure
    • Correct and accurate allocation of code payments
    • Debtors reconciliation
    • Billing of day sheets as received from Doctors’ rooms according to industry standards
    • Submission of accounts to medical aids/private patients
    • Collection of outstanding accounts
    • All patient/medical aid queries on accounts that is handled
    • Reconciliation of remittance advices
    • Collection of co-payments/excesses
  • Finalising of journals and write-offs
  • Manage the growth of the Debtors book

Requirements

  • In depth knowledge of ICD10 Coding
  • Grade 12 with Accounting will be advantageous
  • Med-e-Mass/Vericlaim/ Good-X experience
  • Excel, basic skills
  • Telephone skills
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office & Outlook)
  • Fluently bilingual (Afrikaans & English) – Speak, read & write - NOT negotiable
  • Strong admin abilities
  • Good time management skills
  • Presentable and neat appearance
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Friendly & positive personality
  • Able to contribute positively as part of a team
  • Be able to function well under pressure
