Our client, who is a well known company in the Financial Services industry, is looking for a seasoned Quantitative Analyst to drive their statistical model development process. Along with managing your own model development projects you will be responsible for overseeing other analysts’ model developments within your team and take the lead in presenting and justifying their models at technical committee meetings. This role will enable you to influence the model development across a variety of portfolios, working closely with different credit divisions within the group.

You should be someone who enjoys being in the detail; who has an innovative approach to model development and who has experience in model developments across the consumer credit life cycle.

You will be responsible for:

·         Engaging in creative thinking and innovation by designing and implementing new or cutting-edge solutions, models or processes

·         Influencing creative business solutions, optimising processes and informing strategic decisions through innovative statistical modelling and data analysis

·         Managing people by executing management responsibilities and creating an environment that encourages employee growth and performance excellence

·         Providing assistance, guidance and mentorship to junior Quantitative Analysts

·         Ensuring compliance to legislative and audit requirements and adherence to relevant processes

·         Driving Customer Service Delivery Goal achievement in line with predefined standards and in support of operational objectives

·         Enabling an inclusive culture that upholds the company’s diversity and transformation guiding principles

 


Required Skills

  • quantitative analysis : 7 to 8 years
  • team management : 5 to 6 years
  • consumer credit : 8 to 9 years
  • customer lifecycle management : 6 to 7 years
  • SAS / SQL : 4 to 5 years
  • credit risk models : 7 to 8 years

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications, Competencies and Skills

·         Bachelor’s Degree or higher  (Finance, Statistics, Actuarial and/or Mathematics preferred)

·         Strong Team Management, interpersonal and communication skills.

·         Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking skills

·         Knowledge of statistical and mathematical models and methodologies

·         Successful track record in similar senior post.

·         >10 years experience in consumer credit environment.

·         Credit lifecycle understanding.

·         Strong ability to interpret data and communicate this to / influence key stakeholders

·         PC literate with solid analytical skills in SAS/SQL or similar analytical tools.

·         Analytical and thorough with good attention to detail.

·         Good planning & organizational skills.

·         Commercial & economic awareness.
