My client is seeking a Functional Analyst with at least 5 years experience as a Medical Technologist. This position is based in Durban, Kwa-Zulu-Natal

Minimum requirements:



  • 3 year Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Medical Technology

  • Relevant IT Qualification (desirable).

  • 5 Years Medical Technologist experience

  • 2 Years IT experience (desirable)

  • Business Intelligence and Project environment experience (desirable)

  • Basic understanding of Laboratory Information Systems

  • Understanding of the Laboratory environment

  • Understanding of systems development lifecycle methodology

  • Analytical skills

  • Project Management skills

  • Written and verbal communication skills

  • Organizational skills.


Job Responsibility:



  • To analyse and document functional system activities to ensure that system related incidents/issues have been recorded for future use and are resolved

  • To identify, recommend and initiate application enhancement requests to ensure that changing business requirements are identified

  • To configure/implement new functionality to ensure optimal performance and availability of the system

  • To provide training on new functionality implemented

  • To create and maintain all relevant functional documentation and training notes

  • To research and evaluate new software functionality to ensure that these meet specific needs of the IT and the business and that the organisation is kept abreast of latest technology

  • To coach and assist users with system related problems to minimise downtime

  • To ensure that required standards and objectives are met by implementing Laboratory Information Systems test cases and doing other functional testing.
